Will Invisalign work for me?

An insight into revolutionary teeth straightening in Clapham.

Before committing to orthodontic braces you should be fully informed on who is going to provide the treatment, how will it work and what are the implications and commitments.

Choosing a provider

We recommend choosing the clinic in which you feel you have the most confidence and trust. It is very important to feel welcomed, cared for and looked after; hence you should opt for the clinic where you feel confident in the dentist, the general staff and also the environment and facilities. This way you have the best chance that your expectations and goals can be met successfully.

At Confidental Clinic in Clapham, our dentists have a great deal of Invisalign experience so they can provide a broad approach and one which will serve you well, especially for complex cases. Our staff are warm, friendly and well trained making everyone feeling welcomed and special.

How does it work, is Invisalign going to give me the smile I dreamed of?

If you cannot commit wearing the aligners for 20-22h a day then the treatment is likely to be unsuccessful.  In some way it is like training for a competition or studying for an exam; if you keep skipping classes throughout the process you won’t get the desired result and it could turn out to be a waste of time and money.

Invisalign is a cosmetically designed product; however it does treat complex cases including incorrect “bites”. It is mandatory to move your teeth slowly and gently, otherwise it can cause tooth root shrinkage which in time can make your teeth feel less stable. So, it’s important to not rush your Invisalign treatment for this reason.

When overseen by experienced practitioners like the team at Confidental Clinic, Invisalign can correct many issues with tooth alignment. We can also show you the result we expect to achieve using our 3D simulation system (ClinCheck).

How will Invisalign affect my lifestyle, my social life and what are the commitments?

Invisalign trays are popular for being discreet and comfortable to use and can be removed when eating, brushing and flossing. However whilst it does offer considerable benefits there are some commitments required to get the great smile you deserve – no pain no gain!

Every time you eat or have a snack you need to thoroughly clean your teeth along with the Invisalign aligners. This takes a little time but you may consider starting a diet or adjusting your eating schedule to help.  Brushing and flossing your teeth is very important as any bacteria not removed could spend at least 20h locked inside the Invisalign. On the brighter side, maintaining your Invisalign trays can lead to a better overall hygiene regime!

If you are one of those people (like myself I must add) who often find themselves running to work and forgetting things, you may need to improve your discipline and be more organised when working with Invisalign. This is simply because not wearing your trays for more than 4h per day can have a large negative effect on your treatment. So whilst it may sound a little odd, implementing the discipline which Invisalign requires can help you to become more organised generally.

Any orthodontic treatment should only start when you feel fully prepared to commit. Your contribution is as important as it is to find a clinic that can meet your expectations.
