A possible alternative to Invisalign?
When dental braces are needed to correct teeth that have become crooked or uneven, increasingly people are turning away from traditional braces and embracing modern orthodontics such as Invisalign. Whilst Invisalign is still one of the leading methods to use due to its ease of use and ‘near’ invisibility, it may not be suitable for use in all cases, and, although discreet, it can take longer than traditional wired braces to work.
For dental patients from Clapham Junction and Battersea areas who either can’t, or choose not to use Invisalign, this does not mean that the only alternative are regular braces. At the Confidental Clinic, we are able to offer patients Incognito lingual braces. These act in a similar manner to traditional braces but have the added bonus that they are hidden behind the teeth, rather than in front of them. There are two versions of this modern orthodontic that we have available; the regular one and Incognito Lite. The latter can be used when it is just the visible front teeth that need to be straightened. This is generally faster acting than the regular version.
A common question asked by orthodontic patients is how long the treatment will take before the expected results are achieved. Unfortunately, we can’t answer that question here as so much depends on individual cases. Inevitably very crooked teeth will take a significantly longer period of time to correct them than will teeth that are only slightly out of position.
Our orthodontist at our Clapham Junction practice will be able to advise you of the expected treatment time during your consultation and will also advise how to care for your new orthodontics. Incognito braces are both discreet and comfortable for the patient as, as well as being hidden behind the teeth, they are all individually custom made, through the use of the latest computer technology.
As well as the obvious benefits of discretion and a faster treatment time, Incognito braces offer a number of less obvious benefits. These include the suitability of use on both adults and children, and also, due to the position of these braces, there is no risk of decalcification of the front surface of the front teeth, something which can lead to decay, discolouration and sensitive teeth.
