Teeth Whitening For Brighter Smiles in Clapham Junction, Battersea
As we age, the enamel on our teeth naturally darkens. In addition to age, the consumption of food and drink with strong colours such as tea, coffee, red wine or the habit of smoking can cause staining and result in an aging and unattractive smile.
When prescribed by a dental professional, teeth whitening is a safe, non-invasive and effective way to bring back a naturally bright and youthful appearance.
At ConfiDental Clinic, Clapham Junction, we use a home teeth whitening system. This involves taking impressions of your teeth to send to our dental laboratory who construct custom made whitening trays. An appointment is arranged for you to see the dentist once these trays have been returned, usually in around one weeks’ time. During this appointment, your dentist will check the fit of your trays, provide you with the whitening gel and show you how to apply and use. A review appointment is made one to two weeks later to check the progress and assess your new brighter shade.
Teeth Whitening gels will only whiten enamel. They will not whiten restoration work such as fillings or crowns or on areas of erosion where the enamel has worn away. If you are considering teeth whitening, it is important to carry this out prior to restorative work so that the shade can be perfectly matched.
The benefits of Home tooth whitening are:
- Carried out at you convenience either at home or work.
- You are in control – you can stop using the whitening gel when you have reached your desired shade.
- Cost effective - top up whenever you need. Once your trays have been made, you’ll only have to purchase the whitening gel**
At ConfiDental Clinic of Clapham Junction, Battersea, we offer free consultations to discuss teeth whitening. To arrange your free consultation, just contact our reception team either by phone, e-mail or pop in to see us.
** A dental examination may be necessary prior to purchasing tooth whitening gel.
**Certain dental treatments such as orthodontics, crown or veneer work may result with your whitening trays not fitting properly and inhibit the whitening result. We would therefore recommend that your dentist checks the fit of your trays prior to tooth whitening following such treatments.
